Lt. Cdr Bijay Nair (retd), 48 is a commissioned Naval Officer from Naval Academy and served 10 years relinquishing as LtCdr, with many medals and accolades. It was part of Operation Talwar in 1999 (famously known as Operation Vijay or Kargil War ) and is decorated with the Ops Vijay Star and Vijay Medal. Along with various other Ribbons and Medals.
In 2003 and 2004, he was awarded a Commendation by Flag officer Western Naval Command, and in 2006, he was awarded the prestigious Chief of Naval Staff Commendation.
He is a passionate Ultra distance runner and finisher of the prestigious Comrades Marathon in years 2019 and 2023 a distance of 89Kms in South Africa. Further 40 plus Full Marathons and 120 Half Marathons. Founder of NavRun and 7island Run.
Currently, as Associate Vice President, he works for the National Ship Classification Society in their Promoted Organisation and Heads Quality, Compliance, and Audits. He is an Engineer PG in Marine Specialization and Weapon Controls from the Navy and an MBA from JBIMS and a Defense Program from NMIMS.
He is a blogger and writer with humor as his forte. He is the author of one of the best sellers titled #TheyInspire, which has sold close to 3000 copies. It is one of the best inspirational books in the collection of stories of ordinary people. Further, his 2nd Book is titled BHAGH a humorous take on various facets of distance running. BHAGH won him the Best Author Award in Humour and Entertainment at India Authors Award in 2021. He is further part of 5 Anthology books.
He is a TEDx Speaker and has a YouTube channel named Fauji Talks which focuses on interviews with Veterans.
He is a Fit India Ambassador appointed by the Ministry of Youth and sports. On National TV in Debate.
